I began my professional life 20 years ago recognizing this: What I did everyday had to have meaning, and I derive that sense of being on purpose from helping others improve the quality of their lives. I also knew that I loathed “sales” and the predatory relationship that often underlies many transactions. Ironically, many consider real estate a sales career. But I approach the business of real estate differently: A home is most people’s greatest financial investment, and buying or selling that home is one of the most stressful experiences, right up there with the death of a loved one and divorce. Being a REALTOR®, then, is a perfect fit. It gives me the opportunity to help people at a critical time in their lives.
Having your heart in the right place is only part of the job though. You have to have your head in the game, too. That is why I made education a priority early in life. I have been fortunate to attend some of the country’s better schools and earned a Master’s degree before leaving college and starting my career. Since then, I have been equally committed to my professional growth, attending weekly training opportunities and pursuing the academic bench marks of the profession. I have completed the
e-Pro certification offered through NAR, a program designed to provide REALTORS
® with the state of the art technology skills necessary to effectively serve their clients’ interests in today’s web-based business culture. More importantly, I have completed the
Accredited Buyers Representative courses, the benchmark of excellence in BuyerAgency.
This commitment to helping others is further ingrained in my business model by choosing to be a member of The National Association of Realtors. Not all realtors are REALTORS
®, and the difference is important. As a REALTOR
® I adhere to
NAR’s strict code of ethics.
I am also blessed to have the kind of mentor few other agents do. My father,
Richard Kemp, has been a top agent in the area since the first year he began his formal real estate career. If you live here, you have no doubt seen his signs around town and his ads front-and-center in the local paper. I’m very proud of him. He moved to
the Pacific Northwest without knowing anyone and built one of the most successful real estate businesses through the classic American work ethic. I soak up his market knowledge, contract expertise, and negotiation skills every day.
My business is built on the philosophy of Service Before Self. If you are looking for an agent who practices the highest levels of client advocacy, give me a call. There is never any pressure or obligation. Thank you again for taking the time to visit my site. I look forward to talking with you.
